Join us at the Gale Museum in South Jordan for an evening of learning.
For this lecture, we will actually be showing a collection of short films that highlight much of the industrial history around the Jordan River, and some more recent and ongoing efforts to respond through redevelopment, environmental remediation, sustainability, restoration and water resource management.
We will learn more about the history of the Bingham Canyon Mine, the remediation and redevelopment of the Midvale Slag Site as well as the recent Sharon Steel Redevelopment completed by Zion Bancorporation and ongoing efforts to restore the Big Bend site. We will look towards the future with the Point Development and Power District, and see how these projects are helping to remediate past industrial uses.
Please note: this lecture is slightly out of sequence due to venue and speaker availability.
