Big Bend Volunteer Cleanup

March 7 at 10:00 am

Hosted by McCulley Watershed Consulting Services, Jordan River Commission

Join us for a hands on morning at the Big Bend Restoration Area in West Jordan! This 70-acre site along the Jordan River is a vital urban sanctuary, dedicated to restoring native wildlife habitats and providing the community with a unique way to connect with nature.

We are hosting this cleanup to help prepare the way for a major milestone in the project. The next phase of construction which is currently underway and will be completed later this year, involves the massive undertaking of carving a new river channel and constructing a functional floodplain to improve water quality and ecosystem health.

What to Bring: Please wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes and bring a reusable water bottle. We will provide gloves, bags, and tools!

Purpose: Removing trash debris and preparing the landscape for upcoming restoration work.

Impact: Your efforts directly support the long-term goal of bringing back migratory birds and improving the river’s resilience.
