We’re Hiring! Administrative, Finance & Grant Specialist

The Role at a Glance

As a key member of a small, versatile staff, you will ensure the transparency and efficiency of the Commission’s operations. Your work will span three primary areas:

  • Public Meetings & Transparency: Prepare agendas, record meeting minutes, and manage public records in compliance with state regulations.
  • Finance Management: Handle accounts payable/receivable using QuickBooks Online, reconcile statements, and assist with annual transparency reports.
  • Grant Support: Help prepare grant proposals and track expenditures to ensure we remain compliant with our funding partners.

Beyond the Desk: You’ll also get into the field! This role includes quarterly reconnaissance efforts across the Jordan River Parkway to assess maintenance needs and support team-building.

Compensation & Benefits

The Commission offers a competitive package designed to support your well-being:

  • Salary: $45,000 – $55,000 annually (DOE).
  • Benefits (Value of $20,000+): Full employer-paid medical, dental, vision, and life insurance.
  • Retirement: Employer-paid benefits through Utah Retirement Systems (URS).
  • Time Off: 120 hours of accrued leave annually, plus paid federal and state holidays.

Who Should Apply?

The ideal candidate is a highly organized communicator who can manage multiple projects at once.

Requirements include:

  • A degree in Business, Accounting, or Public Administration plus 1 year of experience OR a high school diploma with 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Technical proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Office, and desktop publishing.
  • A valid Utah Driver’s License and the ability to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • A commitment to ethical work and public transparency.
