Caroline Johnston serves as the Event and Volunteer Coordinator for the Jordan River Commission. Her career in conservation is rooted in a lifelong passion for nature and wildlife, leading her to earn a degree in Environmental and Sustainability Studies with an emphasis in Conservation and Land Management from the University of Utah.
During her academic career, Caroline conducted amphibian surveys for Hogle Zoo and worked on various conservation projects along the Jordan River. Following her graduation in 2025, she served as an AmeriCorps member with the Utah Conservation Corps, gaining practical experience in habitat restoration with the Utah Reclamation Mitigation and Conservation Commission.
In her current role, Caroline focuses on building community relationships with the local environment through stewardship and outreach. She is committed to making the outdoors inclusive and accessible for everyone. Outside of work, she is an active outdoor enthusiast who enjoys mountain biking, rock climbing, and recording nature observations on iNaturalist.
