Free Fishing for 12 and younger at the South Jordan Fishing Ponds:
9:00 am to 12:00 pm (noon)
Children 12 and under will be able to fish for free at our fishing ponds. A limited number of fishing poles will be available for use, and we encourage attendees to bring their own poles if they have them. Staff will be onsite to teach people to fish, and to help rig fishing poles for first time users.
Plein Air Competition:
Join the South Jordan Arts Council on Saturday, September 7, 2024 from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm for the Get to the River: Plein Air Competition. The event will be held at East River Front Park Fishing Ponds located at 11267 S. River Front Parkway. The competition is open to youth age 14-17 years old, amateur artists 18+ and professional artists.
$20 Registration includes a custom art smock. Register at: register.sjc.utah.gov
9:00 – 9:30 AM: ARTIST CHECK-IN (MANDATORY)
9:30 AM – 10:00 AM: Artists find painting location.
10:00 AM – 12:00 PM: ARTISTS PAINT
12:00 PM – 12:30 PM: Submit art ready to be judged
12:30 PM: Art will be judged
1:00 PM: Awards given

Free Mini Golf at Mulligans Golf and Games
9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Children 12 and under who participate in our Free Fishing Day at the Fishing ponds will receive a coupon for a free round of mini golf at Mulligans Golf and Games.
Riverbottom Butterflies will be hosting a free butterfly enclosure experience at Mulligans from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm with a butterfly release at 1:00 pm
