The Golden Spoke Bike Ride is back for its’ eighth year of celebrating the eight trails that connect riders from Ogden all the way to Provo. Whether you’re new to cycling, or are a seasoned professional, this ride is for you. With two family friendly bike rides at the beginning and end of the course, and four different starting locations along the route, participants can find an option that fits their abilities. This event is FREE and all registered participants will receive a water bottle and a complimentary UTA transit pass (make sure to add pass when you register) to help you get to and from the ride. All participants who sign up will also receive a $10 voucher toward food and drink at the end of ride event thanks to our generous sponsors. Commemorative event T-shirts can also be purchased for $15 with orders place by April 18.
The 2025 ride is ending at the new Skippers Bay Trailhead at the Provo River Delta, which means everyone will ride from north to south. There are four different starting locations along the 53 mile route between Tracy Aviary’s Nature Center at Pia Okwai (which is where the event ended last year) and Skippers Bay. The starting locations will also serve at rest stops along the route. For those who desire a more challenging experience, you can opt to do a 100 mile ride from Ogden’s High Adventure Park. The northern 50 miles will have one rest stop in North Salt Lake, so plan accordingly.
The 2025 Golden Spoke Ride has 4 official ride starting locations, 2 family friendly bike rides (at the start and end), and a 100 mile ride option available.

The end of ride celebration will have food trucks, music, giveaways, booths and family friendly activities, including a bike ride, bike rodeo and a nature scavenger hunt for non-riders.

Suggested Start Time: 6-6:30am but depends on ability level – plan to make it to the end of ride between 2:30-4:30pm

Note: The first half of the 100 mile ride will have a rest stop in North Salt Lake with limited support, so prepare accordingly.

Open up the Interactive Ride Map on your Phone.
At the bottom of the map, select the ride you are participating in
Click on the “My Location” icon at the top (it looks like an S),
After you click on that you need to click on the Pin icon that pops up at the bottom right side of the screen.
Your phone may ask you for permission to share your location, so make sure to allow that.
Once you do that, you can see your location in relation to the route.
It doesn’t live track, but you can just refresh the page to update your location.
We’ve marked the route with arrows and signs as well, to help guide you along.
Salt Lake City 800 N to 500 N. – FOR CENTURY RIDE ONLY
Jordan River Trail at 7800 S –
Murdock Canal Trail in Lehi – this detour is marked with yellow route arrows and Golden Spoke 24×18 corrugated signs. The paved trail has been removed for some utility work. You may be able to ride through at your own discretion.
Look for yellow route arrows along the way. They will be at major intersections and sporadically throughout the route to help you stay on route.
What is the Golden Spoke Ride?
The Golden Spoke Ride takes place on the second Saturday of May every year to celebrate the over 170 miles of safe, interconnected, multi-use trail network across the Wasatch Front, from Ogden in the north all the way to Provo in the south. Each year the trail network is growing thanks to the Utah Trails Network program from UDOT.
What to expect?
The Golden Spoke ride is a non-competitive event, so there is no pressure to ride fast or far. Families are welcome to participate. There are supported rest stops along the route, along with food, entertainment, and activities for kids at the beginning and end of ride events. Participants can join or leave the ride at any point they choose. Make sure to join us at the end of ride celebration, no matter what section you ride.
What to bring?
Be sure to bring a bike, helmet, repair kit, water, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a first-aid kit.
Will there be support?
Yes, there will be limited support to riders at the rest stop areas during specific times. Snacks, water, repair kits and tools will be available for use. There will also be limited support in between the rest stops. The 100 mile ride that starts in Ogden will have one rest stop in North Salt Lake, the rest of the northern section will be unsupported.
Is the course marked?
There will be navigational markers at trail junctions and signage at the rest stops. There is also an interactive digital trail map to help navigate.
How much does it cost?
FREE! Plus all registrants get a Golden Spoke water bottle and a free transit pass to get to and from the ride and help with shuttling back from the end. The first 200 registrants will also receive a $10 voucher at the end of ride event for food or drink.
An optional event t-shirt can be purchased for $15.
When is the registration deadline?
Registration closes Friday May 9.
T-shirt add-ons end April 19.
Mailed transit pass add-on ends April 30.
How do I get my free transit pass?
If you need your transit pass to get to the start of ride, make sure to add the transit pass at the registration checkout. We will be able to mail passes up to May 2. You can also pick up your pass the two days before the ride (more details will be available upon registration). Transit passes will also be available for pick up at the end of ride event.

What is the history of the Golden Spoke Ride?
The first Golden Spoke was held on June 2, 2018, as part of National Trails Day to celebrate the completion of the “Archie and Lois Archuleta Bridge” in Salt Lake City that previous fall. Riders started in Ogden and Provo and converged at the bridge to celebrate this momentous accomplishment. The ride has been happening every year since. While the route has stayed mostly the same over the years, the starting and ending points have changed to highlight different facilities and communities along the route.
Who are the 2025 Golden Spoke Partners?
We are so excited to have you participate in the 2025 Golden Spoke Ride. Here is some final information about the event to help you be prepared. We have over 500 people signed up for the event! Parking is limited at the Nature Center and Skippers Bay Trailhead, so utilizing public transit, carpooling or other means to get to and from the ride will be very useful for participants to have a good experience.
Below you will find information about transit, trail detours, parking and other logistics that will help you to plan for your ride on Saturday. Please read through so you are prepared for Saturday. We recommend parking at the FrontRunner Station nearest your starting point (see below) and riding from there to the starting location. From the end point at Skipper Bay, you can take our shuttle to the Provo FrontRunner Station and take the train back to the station that you parked at. The shuttle will be available from 2-5:30pm. Getting there:
Park at the Ogden Frontrunner Station (train doesn’t run early enough to get there for start)
Ride 1.6 miles from Station to the High Adventure Park (see bike route)
Getting back from end of ride:
Take shuttle from Skippers Bay to the Provo FrontRunner Station, or ride there (see bike route)
Take FrontRunner from Provo back to Ogden Station (trains run every hour)
Parking is limited at the Nature Center. We suggest the following option to get you there and back
Getting to start of ride:
Park at the Murray Central Station
Take Trax north to the Millcreek Trax Station.
From the Millcreek Trax Station, ride 1.3 miles to the Nature Center (see bike route). 3300 S. has a Multi-use sidewalk on the north side of the street. This is designed to accommodate bikes as there isn’t a dedicated bike lane on the road.
Get back from end of ride:
Take shuttle from Skippers Bay to the Provo FrontRunner Station, or ride there (see bike route)
Take FrontRunner from Provo back to Murray Central Station (trains run every hour)
Getting to start of ride:
From South Jordan FrontRunner ride 4 miles(Bike Route)
From Draper FrontRunner ride 1.9 miles (Bike Route)
Get back from end of ride:
Take shuttle from Skippers Bay to the Provo FrontRunner Station, or ride there (see bike route)
Take FrontRunner from Provo back to the Draper or South Jordan Station (trains run every hour).
Getting to start of ride:
Park at the Lehi Frontrunner station
Ride 1.9 miles to the Bull River Trailhead (See Route on Google Maps)
Get back from end of ride:
Take shuttle from Skippers Bay to the Provo FrontRunner Station, or ride there (see bike route)
Take Frontrunner from Provo back up to Lehi Station (train runs every hour).
You can park at Palisade Park
Getting Back:
You can ride the 10 miles back to Palisade Park on the trail or
Take the shuttle from Skippers Bay to the Provo FrontRunner Station
Take Bus from Provo Station back to Palisade (see bus route).
There will be very limited parking at Skipper Bay that will be reserved for our organizers. If you are driving to the end of ride event or planning to leave a car there for your own personal shuttle, please park at the Provo FrontRunner station and take our free shuttle to and from Skipper Bay. The shuttle will run continuously from 2-5:30pm.

We will have water, gatorade and snacks available for participants at the beginning and end of the race as well as at the rest stops. Make sure you stay adequately fueled and hydrated while you are out riding to prevent dehydration, exhaustion, or other problems. Here’s a useful table for reference:
Saturday looks like it will be sunny and warm with a high of 85! Wear sunscreen and drink plenty of water.
Water bottles, stickers, food vouchers and t-shirts (if you ordered one), will be available for pick up at 9am at the Nature Center before the start of the main ride and at the end of ride celebration at Skippers Bay. If you are starting at one of the other locations, plan to pick up your SWAG at the end of the ride.
