We are pleased to introduce Silvia Catten as the Chair of the Governing Board for the coming term. She joined the board in the fall of 2018 and represents the City of Millcreek. We asked Silvia to share a bit about herself and her connection to the Jordan River.
1. How did you get involved in the commission?
My involvement was a serendipitous appointment. I agreed to represent Millcreek City on the Governing Board because my City Council area of representation touches the Jordan River. However, I have been pleasantly surprised by how much more invested I’ve become to all-things Jordan River.
Over the last few years, I’ve really grown to love the Jordan river and now see the immense potential for its improvement. Before I joined the JRC Governing Board, I hadn’t considered it or used it much at all. But now I always try to direct my constituents and friends to use it because it’s definitely a hidden gem in this valley.
Thanks Silvia! We are honored to have you chair the Governing Board of the Jordan River Commission and look forward to seeing great things happen along the Jordan River Parkway.
