Vertebrates of the Jordan River Corridor

With increased interest in the critters living along the Jordan River and as one of the Jordan’s longtime amateur zoologists I decided to create a list of the river’s fauna (vertebrates) a while ago. The list includes fish, amphibians, reptiles, birds and mammals in that phylogenetic order. The longtime nature-oriented non-profit, the Salt Lake County Fish and Game Association, originally agreed to publish the list in 2014 but after four years enough changes had occurred to justify its revision. Working with the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources the SLCF&GA republished this current list in 2018. Intended primarily as a checklist (especially for the ‘common birds’) it is not intended for identification but could be useful in eliminating critters from consideration. I take pride as a longtime participant on the Commission’s Technical Committee representing the 100-year-old SLCF&GA, now the Salt Lake Fish and Game Foundation. I think you will enjoy using this list for your own watchable wildlife purposes, as I am not familiar with any other such specific resources – enjoy!
